NO PREZ, NO GLORY - AT 8:17 A.M. ET: This relates to the story just below. Andrew Malcolm, of the L.A. Times's great Top of the Ticket blog, has an item this morning headlined:
It turns out the U.S. now has a new drug czar, the guy in charge of the war on drugs. But announcement of the position wasn't, presumably, important enough for the president:
COMMENT: And this comes with, as we report below, a drug war escalating on the U.S.-Mexican border. This administration has a tin ear on foreign policy, as witness the now wrecked appointment of dictator-loving Charles Freeman to be head of the National Intelligence Council. The president must get a couple of nights of quality sleep, and start to move decisively. March 12, 2009
